the freshmaker and the loner

Well thank you to the people who have been making un-band ever so popular by promoting it in your msn nick names, and telling all your friends about us. So I hear that m3nt0s is keen on joining the ever so cool un-band. Well we'll have to see how pro you are m3nT0s.

On the more musical note, today I'd like to introduce one of my favorite songs.

Solitary Shell by Dream Theater
Album: Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence
Genre: Progressive (rock)

This live version is slightly different from the studio recording but nice nonetheless. Alright, as much as I love the technicality of dream theater, I sometimes find the songs get a little trancey as they drag on. This song to me, is a huge, much needed refreshment from their usual sound. It's just nice and light and oooo the instrumentals are wonderful, not to mention Portnoy's awesome clothes in the above video. If I'm not wrong the verse is in 7/8, but as usual the time signatures change throughout the song so it goes to 4/4 and all. The part that I'm completely clueless about (or haven't bothered looking up or really counting) is the instrumental where the drums syncopate with the keys. That starts at about 3:39 and also 5:20.
